Description

The project takes place in forests of five (5) zones, namely: Traditional Indigenous Authorities Association- AATIAM, Traditional Indigenous Authorities Association of Middle Vaupés- AATIVAM, Traditional Yurutí Indigenous Authorities of Vaupés- ASATRAIYUVA, Traditional PAMIJOBOVA Authorities Association of the Cuduyari river for an own ASOUDIC governance, and Traditional Indigenous Authorities Zonal Association of Acaricuara-AZATIAC. These zones are located in the jurisdiction of the Gran Resguardo Indígena del Vaupés, in South-eastern Colombia. The project will implement REDD + activities to conserve the Amazonian natural forests, through the implementation of activities aimed to reduce deforestation and forest degradation and that are aligned with the Colombian National REDD + Strategy. Communities are planning activities in accordance with their Life Plans and future projections of the territory.
